Former Olympian Antonio Pettigrew was declared dead in Chatham County, and the authorities, they were not sure whether his death was an accident or suicide.
Chatham County Sheriff's Major Gary Blankenship said Tuesday that Pettigrew's body was found in the back seat of his car parked on the side of the bridge. Blankenship said the car was locked and there is evidence that 42 years have been among sleeping pills.
Blankenship said, "We do not know know whether deliberate or not deliberate ... we may never know."
